Two Lovers
I am a child of the night
Darkness calls to me
cradles me
strokes me with lures of silence
of blackness
a world void of light and noise
He wants me with him
so I lay with him
feel his presence
submit to his whispered words
he feels so right
But then when I turn
The sun beacons my name
Begs me to him
Lures me in
Stakes his claim
I am torn between two lovers
One that calms me
Soothes me
Uses dark, quiet magic to seep inside
To fill the crevices of a fractured soul and mind
The other awakens the quiet me
Ignites a sleeping flame
Caresses my body
Sparks my senses
Arouses laughter, energy
Offers fire when I'm cold
I should not have to choose
But I do
When darkness turns to light
I choose the other
When light becomes dark
I choose his brother
In the middle is me
With no real place to be
